Your Guide to the 2022 Chevy Camaro

Basics About the 2022 Camaro

The Camaro is one of the most iconic sports cars of all time. For 2022, it’s available in two versions: coupe and convertible. Both versions come with a wide range of interior and exterior colors, from Red Hot to Rapid Blue. There are three trims (ZL1 1LE, SS 1LE, and RS) and three different design packages to choose from. There are also two special editions with unique designs: Shock and Steel, and Redline Edition.

You can choose among four different engines: 2.0L Turbo, 3.6L V6, 6.2L LT1 V8, and 6.2L LT4 Supercharged V8. All engines have direct injection for the best possible performance. The car’s dual-mode exhaust boosts the performance at high speeds. It’s designed to create a distinctive sound to enhance the driving experience. The optional Magnetic Ride Control and Performance Traction Management systems enhance wheel control at high driving speeds.

New/Unique Features

Let’s explore the differences between the 2021 and 2022 Camaro. The 2022 model year got two extra exterior color options: Rapid Blue and Vivid Orange Metallic. However, it lost some of the color options of the 2021 model year: Crush, Shock, Blue, and Kalahari. The 2022 version has optional copper-free performance brakes and a Brembo braking system with copper-free components.

The Kalahari knee pads of the 2021 version are no longer available for the 2022 version. The 2022 Camaro comes with the same advanced safety features as the 2021 model. The rear vision camera is standard for all 2022 trims, for increased peace of mind when maneuvering. Optional features include Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Forward Collision Alert, and Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert.

The Connectivity Features

The Camaro comes with the Chevrolet Infotainment 3 system, which offers plenty of in-vehicle entertainment options. With Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, you can use your smartphone’s apps right on the optional launch control panel display of the car. With the optional Wi-Fi feature, the car can create a Wi-Fi hotspot, so your passengers can stream movies and play online games during a long trip. Up to seven devices can be connected to the hotspot.

The Chevrolet Infotainment 3 System offers several in-vehicle apps, including Spotify and SiriusXM. It has built-in Alexa, so you can perform many mundane tasks with voice commands, without getting distracted from the road. Alexa can also open the garage door for you! With built-in Google, you can check driving directions from Google Maps in a breeze or ask the Google Assistant to send a text for you.

Now, you know what makes the Camaro iconic. If you’re looking for outstanding performance without giving up on Internet connectivity and driver-assist features, it may be the right model for you. Call Van Bortel Chevrolet for a test drive.
