1. Lake Bluff Campgrounds
Lake Bluff Campground is located on the shores of Lake Ontario, just a few miles from Chimney Bluffs State Park, where guests can view incredible glacial rock formations. Campsites are available both for RVs and tents, and all are equipped with fire pits, picnic tables, and electrical and water hookups.
2. Sampson State Park
Sampson State Park covers 200 acres of recreation facilities and hiking trails on the edge of Seneca Lake. Thousands of people come here every year to camp and boat on the lake, the latter of which is made even easier thanks to the newly remodeled marina and boat slip that the park offers. There 243 electric campsites in the park, which can be reserved online and are suitable for both tents and RVs.
3. Riverforest Park
Located on the Seneca river approximately 45 minutes drive to the east of Macedon, Riverforest park is primarily an RV park, however, the campsites can also be used by those tent camping but are restricted to one night only. There is also a marina facility on the site, and visitors can fish from the piers that jut out into the river. The campsites can accommodate all sizes of RVs, and riverside sites are also available by arrangement.
4. Fair Haven Beach State Park
Located on the eastern portion of Lake Ontario’s shoreline, fair haven beach offers stunning views of the lake and towering limestone bluffs, with rolling tree-covered hills behind. Visitors can swim in the lifeguarded beach area, or head inland to hike through the forests. Boat rentals are also available and include kayaks, canoes, and rowboats. Three separate campgrounds contain 46 electrical sites and a further 138 non-electrical ones, suitable for tents and RVs.
5. Ontario County Park at Gannet Hill
Named after a local media mogul, this park offers over 400 acres of land for visitors to enjoy campers can fish in the small fishing pond or hike and mountain bike on the miles of trails. the park offers tremendous scenery of the Bristol Hills and Finger Lakes region, with views stretching as far as the hills behind Cayuga lake. Campsites are basic and are offered both with and without electricity. Pavilions and cabins are also available and can be rented by guests.
